Using the body as a canvas to advertise by displaying typographical messages is quite a new venture for me so I undertook some research in the subject first.
I thought the images below worked quite well. The first two use the body as text to talk about & advertise the pants which I thought was a good idea. Maybe possibilities of painting words on someones body and later erasing their skin from the photo to leave the type as below.
I also thought about the possibilities of using ink to create a typographical message on the skin, like a tattoo.
Using type in videos while wearing it: I remember seeing this video a while back and I thought it was genius. How someone could remember which finger corresponds to the correct word in the song is beyond me. It must have took them forever to get this right.

Final Webpage Design & Branding
Logo: I decided to use the globe idea for the Popular Peace logo to convey a worldwide feel. The web address is included as part of the logo so if it is placed on different branded materials it will always be present (doesn't have to be a separate element).
Webpage: For the Popular Peace Homepage I tried to keep things as simple and as uncomplicated as possible. The links will be clearly displayed across the top of each page to eliminate confusion when navigating. I have made the branding strap-line the main feature of the page and also based the website colour scheme around this.
The rest of the page is taken up by happy colourful images to try and convey the main aim of Popular Peace - giving the people the voice to decided what they really need and want.
Examples of branded materials: T-shirts, Mugs & Billboards.

Pro_four: Popular Peace Branding
Research:
For the Popular Peace logo I began by thinking about the typical symbols for peace. For example the universal hippie sign seen top left. The white dove of peace is also an international symbol for peace and a yin yang is considered a representation of peace as it stands for balance and harmony.
As the branding and website had to represent a worldwide message I thought a logo which contained the image of the globe could be used to tie in with this idea.
The name Popular Peace uses two P's which gave me the idea to develop something like the example to the left using the letters for a modern logo design.

Final Editorial Layouts
This spread uses a full page black & white wedding photograph to illustrate the adjoining story.
The scripty font used for the title and the newspaper type used for the main body text help to convey the setting and the era in which the story takes place.
Specific quotes have been extracted from the text to draw the readers eye and immediately make these instances stand out.
Four Page Spread:
This spread's layout is more drawn out which enables the title and images to really stand out as there is more space for them, the text also runs over 2 pages.
The display board below is made up of some of the various elements that contributed to the design of the main editorial pages. They also encompass the same styling and colour scheme.

Research
My original idea to edit my raw footage together into a video, while also adding old black & white images, using adobe premier didn't quite work out as the program couldn't recognise certain video file formats. Therefore I decided to create an innovative magazine spread comprised of the main story in a reporter written type style with the addition of related old black and white imagery from the time frame of the story. Above are a number of current magazine spreads that I quite liked, took ideas from and also thought were relevant to my kind of story.
I wanted the fonts I was using throughout to effectively fit the mood, feeling and time frame of the piece so I did some research into fonts. I found some great old scripty fonts as well as old newspaper and typewriter type fonts. Some of my experiments with these fonts, in order to create the title for the editorial, can be seen to the left. I also located some modern fonts which I saved for use in further projects.
Further research into typography from the era of the story lead me to an old Derry & Antrim yearbook where I found the following advertisements and layouts.

Pro_three: Early Memory
I had the idea to interview my grandparents and find out their memories of when they first met. At first I thought it would be quite a good idea to interview them separately and get their individual sides of the story and then see if their stories differed in any way. However after much deliberation, I decided to interview them both together so they could correct each other if the story happened to be fabricated by either of them.
After their thought provoking, first meeting interview, my grandparents got reminiscing and came up with other old stories which were also recorded. Now, along with the old images they provided me with, I had numerous content the complete the project with. I had the idea to edit the numerous videos together and incorporate the images where appropriate in the story.
